Week 2: Chapter 2 Reading

Barrett Chapter 2- Describing Photographs 1A). Barrett uses the term description as way to answer all ones questions about the photograph. They are all available to see in the photograph even if they are not obvious to the viewer. Its gives a sense of the who, what, where of the setting of the photograph. 1B). Subject is the message or theme that the photographer is trying to convey to the audience. Subject matter is what is contained in the photograph. It is more specified of the objects being used in the picture ratherthan the overall meaning the picture is telling its audience. Week 2: Shutter Speed

Image
This week we worked on shutter speed and while I'm still new to the manual app that I have on my IPhone, Im having a hard time adjusting light exposure. Hopefully this is something I can work out in class on Monday. (I SO 32 4.15 mm   f/2.2  1/250) (I SO 32 4.15 mm   f/2.2  1/62) A little blurry and light is highly exposed.

Week 1: Bracketing

Image
This week we started the process of using the camera in manual mode! While it was a very daunting task, I like to think I handled it pretty well. Bracketing is taking pictures at different exposure settings. This allows to find which exposure setting is best for the shot one is trying to take. By doing it, you adjust the meter up towards the positive direction, in this case I went towards 1. Then to get less exposure, you go toward the negative 1. After looking at all 3 images you can see how the light exposure really effects the image being taken. On a side note, I tend to have a hard time adjusting my shutter speed manually and I would love to go over that in class on Monday!
