Final Project

Image
After looking over my photos from last week and also following Sadie's advice, I decided to make my pictures more personal. I have selected some routine things that I do throughout my morning routine and pictured myself or a piece of myself in the photos. This way the theme stays relevant shows that it is a personal aspect of my life. For constructing my book, I have looked at different ways to represent routine. One of the best ways that came to my mind would be to have a clock and instead of number have 12 different pictures on each number that represent a specific thing I do in my daily routine. It works because at the end of the day and when the clock strikes 12, the day starts all over again and thus the routine starts again as well.

Final Project Ideas

For my final project the first thing that came to my head is "routine". Since I am a very organized person, I figured I could incorporate that into the work I do. So for my two ideas I have either capture a repeating object in different areas (I.E a bike or another object) or take a picture at the same time everyday in the same spot and see what around me is similar and different. Either way, I feel both could express this feeling of routine in my life.

Edward Weston

I chose Edward Weston because I want to be able to aquatint myself with one of the most well known photographers of the 20th century. Going through his images as well, I liked how he brought human characteristics to objects that particularly do not have this. I am also excited to see what types of techniques he curated that are still used in photography today and what he may have learned from past photographers as well.

Lighting

Lighting:  Doing this lighting assignment was the most interesting in my opinion. The use of the diffused light is the most interesting aspect to me since it tends to even out the picture. In addition it creates a warmer and welcoming sense to the picture overall rather than a harsh picture jumping out at you. I can see why a lot of photographers use it for portraits of people so it wipes away any shadow that may jump out on someones face. Hard Light Vs.
