Lighting

Lighting: Doing this lighting assignment was the most interesting in my opinion. The use of the diffused light is the most interesting aspect to me since it tends to even out the picture. In addition it creates a warmer and welcoming sense to the picture overall rather than a harsh picture jumping out at you. I can see why a lot of photographers use it for portraits of people so it wipes away any shadow that may jump out on someones face.

I chose Edward Weston because I want to be able to aquatint myself with one of the most well known photographers of the 20th century. Going through his images as well, I liked how he brought human characteristics to objects that particularly do not have this. I am also excited to see what types of techniques he curated that are still used in photography today and what he may have learned from past photographers as well.
